Whew y'all...how can it already be September??? It seems like the summer flew by and after having TWO shows in August, we had a LOT of catching up to do! First, we had to tend to these "children" of ours...our poor babies waited patiently all summer to be sheared. This is Miss Shug Avery, the Black Sheep of our little family and one of the most loving and friendly sheep you will ever meet. She loves to be kissed and hugged and will wag her little tail with excitement when getting some extra attention.
This is Miss Sophia with the other girls in the background(Shug and Sophia's twin sister Odessa). Sophia and Odessa love them some Jermonne...but no hugging and kissing...just scratching and rubbing their bellies will do for them (Joe moves a little too fast and talks a little too loud for them unless he has a bucket of treats, of course).
Then there was a lot of much needed R&R on "The Wisteria Lane of Barn House"...just hanging out, enjoying the beautiful weather, sunbathing (Joe), and sitting on the porch in a coma-like state (Jermonne).
THEN we invited ourselves over to Cindy and Barry's house for Labor Day...HEE HAW!!!Their house is so beautiful, warm and the source of SOOOO much inspiration! Her exquisite style of infusing French home decor and her own unique creations is absolutely breath-taking!! She even made us an incredible dinner. Joe and Cindy looked at books and discussed the Barn House October Season Finale (YES! The Queen of Tarte will be back as our Featured Guest AND Co-Creator for the October Extravaganza!!!).
Barry and I sipped some moonshine discussing something that was really important at the time...I "think" we were giving Joe a big ol' guilt trip for not letting me get another dog!! Then a very "theatrical" banter began. ;o)This is THEIR dog Jake who is such a sweetie pie (did I mention WE don't have a dog???)!! He use to growl and bark at Joe (who is already afraid of dogs), but they have become BFFs. Who couldn't love Joe after he has invited himself over sooooo many times (not to mention feeding Jake all the delicious food we eat over there)???
Whew...back to work! The vegetable garden needed some love too...
OH...and some very special pink roses for the women in the SEPTEMBER 20th LINE-UP!!!! We know...all of that lolly-gagging when all you REALLY want to hear about is The Line Up...
Our Featured Guests and First-Timers at Barn House:
Second Childhood Girlfriends (Corrine and Karen) - You know them well from Expo, Monticello Antique Marketplace and Camas Antiques...they have a very classic and romantic cottage style of decorating. We were honored to be next to them when we did Expo last November. We have always been impressed with the continuous long line of customers they have in their space!!
Worthy Goods (Debbie and Laurie) - They were one of the featured dealers at our June show AND Flea Market! We LOVE them and are so happy to have them back!! They have been VERY busy collecting a great assortment of treasures just for you.
AND there couldn't be a Barn House Event without one of our all time favorites and top-sellers...Natalie (Sparrow). The pictures of her space from our previous posts say it all. Even though I said she couldn't be invited back after winning our Bake-Off competition at the Flea Market, we "kind of" really, really, REALLY love her AND her style (when she isn't stealing OUR awards). One of these days she is going to get that blog of hers together. One can only hope!!
More to come on our September show AND the blog awardS we just received...

Your last event looked wonderful. I'm hoping to make it up for the October Season Finale. I'd love to see all the goodies.
Christa
My friend Tiffany and I were there in July, and are coming back September 20th. Can't wait to see all the treasures you have! Your garden and the roses are beautiful!
Kathy
So your gonna make me beg???? I left a comment on your last post. No response! How do you get invited to your fab show? Must I have an official invite or do I just show up? Come on, do I really have to whine?

Missed seeing you at Coburg, but I totally get the "playing catch up" thing. Isabel and I are planning on making it up for your October show grand finale. BTW, we are still waiting for your chili and peach cobbler recipes to show up on your blog. Last night on the way home from Coburg, I had the biggest craving for some of your delicious peach cobbler. Please share?!
Hugs,
Lisa
Sept. 20th is coming up fast...can't wait!
I can't believe you don't have a dog!
Hello dear J&J! Thank you for your lovely comment at my place : ))) Yuo seem to have the most beautiful place on earth over there. Definetely on my list "places to visit" when in US. Hugs from Sweden, Minna : )
Finally you posted again-GEE, I was wondering what was going on!!!! How come Joe is SOOO intense with Cindy????
Are they wipping up some good ideas, or what??? Yes, Jermonne, I have said it before and I'll repeat (allthough Joe acts like his def when I say it): Your place needs a dog;- even a tiny, tiny little one (that can fit in BEAR's bed). Oh, that would be so great :o)
Even though I won't be a vendor this time, I will for sure offer to help out (read, buy stuff) & get it ready for the 20th!
With much love,
Sylvi
We love you guys and so enjoy having you over....it was a great weekend!! Maybe next time we can talk Joe into getting a puppy!!! Please invite yourselves anytime!!! Can't wait for the October extravaganza...definately a must attend event. xoxox Cindy
I guess I am being snubbed. Oh well. I won't ask again.

You have had a way fun summer!! Hopefully I'll get to make it back up there next time!
About the dog issue...Jermonne, it's been my experience that you find the dog, you sneak the dog home, everyone is mad for a little while, then he's part of the family. I'm sure Joe will get over it. I'm thinking about doing this again myself! Karen
Me again, about the dog. Get a "used" dog. Puppies have to go through the chewing, the messing, all that. "Used" dogs, you know what they're like right up front, they are already trained, they're glad to have you adopt them. I knew you were just whining! Karen
I wish I could be there on the 20th, I'm getting BH withdrawal...!! Instead, I will be cheering my girls at their gymnastics meet... But I won't miss the season finale!!!
Isabel
I love your farm! YOur photos....and all your gorgeous stuff! I was delighted to see you are in Washington! That means on day I'll have my husband bring me to visit your barn! I'd love to come to a sale. I just missed you in Yakima it seems. We weren't at home, but your barn sale was right next door to one of my close friends who loves farms, barns, and treasures like I do. I'm going to link your blog on mine and keep up with your news. *U*

Everything is so enticing and interesting!! Wish I could see everything for myself!! Maybe I can someday!!
Have I told you how much I love your blog today? :-)
If I haven't, stop by my blog. I gave you an award just to show how much I do!

Miss Sophie looks great. Love her new haircut. I wish I lived on your coast. I come shopping all the time
Wish I lived closer!! I would love to attend one of your Barn Sales! Looks like you have awesome things! If you ever are in need of custom rugs/monogram rugs...let us know.
I would get a border-collie because of the sheep; for it would get along so well with them. But, I don't have a dog, nor do I intend to where I live. Good luck on that one.
Your setting is idyllic and that October show sounds too good to be true with Cindy and her special flair. I do not require an invitation. I will look at your blog like everyone else for the announcement!
Christine ~ Zwee!!!!!!!
awwww.. no paybacks! you just gave up on me too soon! you know i always tell you first! love ya!

Hi J&J!
I miss BH and hope to make it there on Saturday. Your sheep are so cute naked!
Take care.
Kathy
and why don't you have chickens running around causing havoc? there's a small shopping area here in sacramento (fair oaks village) with wild chickens -- and it's so much fun! the shops come and go (although my favorite antique shop is still there!), but i absolutely love the chickens! a couple years ago, i was lucky enough to catch a mama hen leading her brood down the sidewalk ... darn, no camera that day!
